Deze hoorn van de Brusselse bouwer Joseph Persy volgt het typische patroon van een Franse “pistonhoorn”-model: smalle boring (10,5 mm), périnet-ventielen, “smalle” beker en mogelijkheid om diverse wisselbogen te gebruiken. De lengte van de ventielpompen is aangepast aan het gebruik van wisselbogen van D tot G. Deze mooi gebouwde hoorn, die dateert wellicht van net voor de eerste wereldoorlog werd ondermeer gebruik voor de opname “Offenbach Romantique” met les Musiciens du Louvre (2006).
This horn by the Brussels workshop of Joseph Persy folows a typical French “piston horn” design: small bore (10.5mm), 3 descending Périnet valves, small bell flare and the possibility to use changing crooks. The lenght of the valve tubings is adjustable for use with crooks ranging from D to G. This beautifully built horn, dating from just before the first world war was used among others for the production and recording “Offenbach Romantique” with les Musiciens du Louvre (2006).
